Acerca del premio

El Bryce Wood Book Award se entrega en cada Congreso Internacional de LASA a un libro destacado sobre las ciencias sociales y las humanidades de América Latina que se haya publicado en inglés.

Llamado a nominaciones

En cada Congreso Internacional, la Asociación de Estudios Latinoamericanos entrega el Bryce Wood Book Award al mejor libro sobre Latinoamérica en el área de las Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades que se haya publicado en inglés. Para el Congreso Internacional de LASA2019, los libros que podrán participar deberán haber sido publicados entre el 1.° de julio del 2017 y el 30 del junio del 2018. Si bien los libros no pueden participar más de una vez, también se pueden considerar sus traducciones. Generalmente, para este premio no se tienen en cuenta las antologías de selecciones de varios autores o las reediciones de trabajos publicados previamente. Los libros son evaluados por su calidad de investigación, análisis y escritura, y por la importancia de su aporte a los estudios latinoamericanos. Los libros pueden ser nominados por los autores, los miembros de LASA o las editoriales. Las personas que nominan libros son responsables de confirmar la fecha de publicación y de enviar el paquete de nominación incluyendo: una copia del libro nominado directamente a cada miembro del Comité de Premiación y a la secretaría de LASA, a cuenta y cargo de los autores o las editoriales, la dirección completa, los números de teléfono y fax y la dirección de correo electrónico del nominado. Se puede realizar nominaciones vía electrónica. Para esto debe llenar el formulario de nominacióny enviarlo hasta septiembre 21, 2018a la Secretaría de LASA al correo electrónico lasa.awards@pitt.edu. Para envío internacionales, por favor clasifiquen sus envíos como regalos y no como muestras.

Cada uno de los miembrosdel Comité de Premiación y a la secretaría de LASA debe recibir todos los libros nominados hasta el 21 de septiembre del 2018. A más tardar el 20 de enero del 2019, el Comité seleccionará el libro ganador. También puede designar una mención honorífica. El premio se anunciará en la Ceremonia de Premiación de LASA2019, y el premiado será galardonado públicamente. No es necesario ser miembro de LASA para recibir el premio.
