Sobre a premiação

Em cada Congresso Internacional, a Associação de Estudos Latino-Americanos (LASA) apresenta o Prêmio do Livro Bryce Wood para o livro de destaque sobre a América Latina em ciências humanas e sociais, publicado em inglês.

Chamada para indicações

Os livros qualificados para o Congresso Internacional da LASA de 2022 serão aqueles publicados entre 1º de julho de 2020 e 30 de junho de 2021. Embora nenhum livro possa concorrer mais de uma vez, as traduções podem ser consideradas. Antologias de seleções de vários autores ou reedições de trabalhos publicados anteriormente normalmente não estão na disputa pelo prêmio. Os livros serão avaliados nos quesitos qualidade da pesquisa, análise, redação e importância da contribuição aos estudos Latino-Americanos. Os livros podem ser indicados por autores ou autoras, membresía do LASA ou editores.

As pessoas que indicam os livros são responsáveis por confirmar a data de publicação e por encaminhar uma cópia (digital ou física) diretamente a cada membro da Comitê do Prêmio, às custas dos autores ou editores. O pacote de indicação deve incluir uma declaração justificando a indicação; uma cópia do livro indicado (digital ou física); e o endereço de correspondência completo, telefone, números de fax e endereço de e-mail do indicado. Indicações ao Bryce Wood Book Award devem ser apresentadas vía electrónica. Preencha o formulário de indicação até 20 de setembro de 2021. Para o transporte internacional, por favor rotular todos os livros como presentes e não como amostras.

Todos os livros indicados devem chegar a cada membro do Comitê do Prêmio até 20 de setembro 2021. Em 20 de janeiro 2022, o comitê selecionará um livro vencedor. O comitê também poderá conceder uma menção honrosa. O prêmio será anunciado na Cerimônia de Boas-vindas da LASA2022 e a pessoa premiada será homenageada publicamente. Além disso, apresentará seu livro em um painel especial durante o Congresso. O recebimento do prêmio não está sujeito à afiliação na LASA.
