A própria Netflix brincou com a semelhança entre as produções “El robo del siglo” (O maior assalto) e “La casa de papel”. No teaser de anúncio, publicado no canal do Youtube Netflix Latinoamérica, o personagem principal da série colombiana, Chayo (Andrés Parra), aparece de costas, atrás de uma maquete. Quando se vira para a câmera, pergunta: “¿Qué? ¿Esperaban a alguien más?” Uma clara referência ao personagem do Professor (Álvaro Morte), gênio por trás dos assaltos em “La casa…” e, seguramente, a figura que sempre aparecia envolto pelo mesmo ar de mistério e uma maquete de papel (daí um dos motivos para o título da obra). Além disso, a audiência mundial segue esperando a última temporada da produção espanhola, por isso a possível expectativa pela nova aparição do Professor.
