Announcing the newly elected representatives of the Executive Council

The Latin American Studies Association announces the newly elected members of the Executive Council. We are grateful for all the members that voted and congratulate the new elected representatives.

The officials shall take their responsibilities on June 2026 after LASA’s International Congress LASA2026, which will be held May 26-30, 2026 in Paris, France. The elected persons will be part of the Executive Council, which is responsible for overseeing the interests of the Association.

The Constitution and By-Laws of LASA establishes that the Vice President shall serve in that capacity for the term of one year, and upon completion, she/he shall become the President during the next year. Subsequently, the President shall remain on the Executive Council as a voting member for one additional year.

The two Executive Council members and the Sections Representative serve three-year terms, while the graduate student representative serves a two-year term representing the Association’s student membership.
